What People Are Saying

Thousands of visitors experience the beauty and wonder of Arboretum every year. Here's what a few of them had to say.

"

We brought our third-grade class for the Young Naturalists program and it was one of the best field trips we've ever taken. The educators were patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. The kids are still talking about the carnivorous plant demonstration!

My husband and I held our anniversary dinner at the Fern Grotto pavilion. The event team was extraordinary — they transformed the space beyond anything we imagined. Every photo looks like a magazine spread. Arboretum is a true hidden gem in Central Florida.

I'm a landscape photographer and Arboretum is my go-to location every single season. The light filtering through the tropical canopy at golden hour is unlike anywhere else in Volusia County. The staff always makes me feel welcome, and the annual membership pays for itself after two visits.

Brought my two toddlers for Tot Sprouts on a whim and it was absolutely magical. They were completely engaged — touching leaves, smelling herbs, watching butterflies. We've been members ever since. The staff makes every visit feel special and educational without being overwhelming.

For general admission, walk-ins are always welcome during open hours. However, guided tours, education programs, and specialty events do fill up — especially on weekends. We recommend booking at least 3–5 days in advance for guided experiences, and 2–4 weeks ahead for private events or group tours of 10 or more.

Yes! Well-behaved dogs on a 6-foot leash are welcome in all outdoor garden areas. Pets are not permitted inside the conservatory buildings or near the children's program areas during events. We have water stations for dogs located throughout the property. Cats, reptiles, and other animals require prior approval.

General admission covers self-guided access to all outdoor gardens and the conservatory. Guided tours, education classes, and specialty programs are priced separately and include instruction, materials, and smaller group sizes for a more personal experience. Members receive 20% off all programs in addition to free garden admission every visit.

Absolutely. Our venues include the Fern Grotto pavilion (up to 80 guests), the Meadow Garden lawn (up to 200 guests), and the conservatory atrium for intimate gatherings up to 40. All event bookings include a site walkthrough with our events coordinator. We partner with several preferred caterers and can coordinate florals, photography, and rental equipment on request.

Yes. All paved main paths and conservatory buildings are fully ADA accessible. We also offer complimentary wheelchair and mobility scooter loans on a first-come basis — call ahead to reserve one. Some natural trail areas involve uneven terrain, but our accessible loop covers all major collections. Sensory maps for visitors with autism or sensory sensitivities are available at the welcome desk.

We do! Our education team offers curriculum-aligned field trip programs for grades K–12, with STEM, life science, and ecology tracks available.
